A total of 244 Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) Nakhoda Ragam Campus graduates attended the launch of the IBTE Pre-Convocation Career Guidance Roadshow on Wednesday.

The event was designed to help equip graduates with tailored advice on their CV writing and interview skills. It also included a motivational talk to enable them to perform better in the job hunt.

IBTE Nakhoda Ragam Campus Academic Manager Haji Sofiandi bin Haji Mohd Ali noted that the roadshow will help graduates discover their interests, strengths, work values and personality – all of which will affect their career choices.

“Recently, there is a threat of the unemployment rate rising. It is clear that our young generation, especially our graduates, could do with some help in their journey ahead of them, and that career guidance is a vital enabler in matching education outcomes to the career choices that they make.”

He said that IBTE strives to forge close links with industries so that students will learn skills relevant to the workplace.

This effort, he added, is part of the broader Brunei Vision 2035, a national movement to provide Bruneians with opportunities to develop their fullest potential in life.

A CV clinic and an interview workshop was delivered by Anthony Sigar from GroMinda Group – a consulting company.

A motivational talk by epiPeople Consultants on People Manual serves to provide most practical tool for effective collaboration and team productivity was also held.
