Roadblock operations detect traffic offences

The Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) through its police districts recorded five offences issued with compounds, two traffic offences and two police warnings (reminder) during its weekly roadblock operation recently.

In Tutong District, five compounds were issued to drivers for putting up car shades / curtains, unsafe car tyres, not putting on the road tax and not wearing seat-belts.

A traffic offence due to installing blackout car shades was recorded in Temburong District. Six police personnel were involved in the operation conducted at Jalan Utama near Kubur Semamang junction.

Meanwhile, in the Belait District, two police reminders were issued due to non-operational car plate lights, not bringing identification card and driving licence while driving. The operation was carried out at Jalan Tengah Seria.

Over 55 officers from law enforcement agencies were involved in the operation in Brunei-Muara District. The operation was carried out at the Kuala Lurah Control Post.

During the operation, a driver was issued with a compound fine for expired road tax. The RBPF will continue to conduct similar operation in the near future to ensure that violations of national laws are swiftly handled, which will help maintain peace and harmony in the country.
