FIFA (Federation Internationale de Football Association) President Gianni Infantino’s iconic visit to Brunei Darussalam continued with a stakeholder session with the football community at the Indera Samudra Grand Hall of The Empire Hotel & Country Club yesterday.
His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah, President of the National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) attended the event.
The stakeholders comprised members of the Executive Committee of NFABD, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, Refereeing Association, Districts Football Association, football clubs, academies and football schemes.
Gianni Infantino also attended a press conference at the NFABD House and a football programme with His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah at the NFABD Artificial Football Field.
Also present was Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin.
The FIFA President led a delegation comprising Deputy Secretary General – Football Mattias Grafstrom, CEO of FIFA Foundation Youri Djorkaeff, Chief of Communications Onofre Costa, Director of Member Associations Asia and Oceania Sanjeevan Balasingam and President’s Office Manager Federico Raviglione.
During Infantino’s visit to the NFABD Artificial Field, he met with over 100 grassroots players from several local clubs and national team players.
These visits will also strengthen the ties between FIFA and NFABD to continue working together to accomplish the objectives.
The FIFA President, who is in Brunei as part of his East Asian Tour, has also visited Nepal, Mongolia, Laos, the Philippines, Bangladesh and China.
