Politeknik Brunei (PB) organised a Cultural Night at the Youth Centre in the capital recently, in conjunction with its 5th Convocation Ceremony. The event was one of the Convocation Carnival initiatives.
PB’s Music Club, Korean Culture Club and Dance Club staged a string of cultural performances. The event was one of the projects organised by students under the Event Management Programme, Enrichment Module, and Centre for Student Development and Innovation (CSDI).
The ‘Golden Youth’ theme showcased the talents of club members, encouraging performers to express themselves artistically, and at the same time, inspiring others to showcase their hidden talents.
PB Assistant Director Alias bin Haji Abu Bakar was the guest of honour. Head of Akli Unit, Department of Co-Curriculum Education, Ministry of Education Hajah Hajidah binti Haji Abdul Wahab also attended.
The night was further enlivened with a cultural performance by special guest artiste Zul F, who sang Syarat Takluki Hatiku. A mix of musical genres were played, including pop, jazz, ballads and rock. Dance Club members staged cultural performances on Malay, Korean and Bollywood traditional dances, as well as contemporary dance, hip-hop and dangdut.
Acoustic performances and a silat performance were also held.
The Music Club aims to expose youth in the field of music by providing guidance and encouragement, while the Dance Club looks to showcase PB students’ talent.
