Teachers should be mindful of their morals and behaviours and be a role model to students and the community, said Acting Director of the Islamic Studies Department at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Haji Rusli bin Haji Mohd Salleh.

He said this in an Induction Talk organised by the Islamic Studies Department at the Ministry of Religious Affairs through its Administration Section at Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha Girls Arabic Religious Secondary School yesterday.

A total of 72 trainee religious teachers and officers under the Islamic Studies Department participated. Haji Rusli, who was the guest of honour, also said that teachers play a major role in shaping the future generation to produce a knowledgeable society with faith, virtue, morality and obedience to Allah the Almighty.

The three-day talk aims to provide officers and teachers with knowledge about the general rules of public service and the benefits of being an educator.

It also acts as a guide for the staff and teachers to understand the mission, vision, functions and roles of the department and to provide exposure and understanding of a teacher’s professionalism in support of National Vision 2035.
