New Neighbourhood Watch members appointed

Kampong Sungai Besar of Mukim Kota Batu yesterday announced the establishment of its Neighbourhood Watch, where 10 of its members will participate in Neighbourhood Watch programmes and activities organised by the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF).

Assistant Officer-in-Charge of the Bandar Seri Begawan (BSB) Central Police Station Inspector Bakrie Hasmie bin Abu Bakar presented the official appointment certificates to Acting Village Head of Kampong Sungai Besar Haji Khamis bin Abdullah and the nine new Neighbourhood Watch members.

The event also saw a briefing by a representative from the Public Relations Unit of the RBPF who talked about the history and the direction of the Neighbourhood Watch.

It continued with a crime prevention patrol by the new members guided by nine Focal Point (FP) members comprising members from the FP Brunei-Muara Police

District Headquarters, FP BSB Central Police Station, FP Kampong Ayer Police Station and FP Muara Police Station.

The RBPF through the Neighbourhood Watch Secretariat expects more participation from the villager residents with its main objective to prevent crime together.
