A mosque is more than a place for prayer. It serves as a centre for dakwah as well as religious activities, disseminating religious knowledge to the public and to study Al-Quran.

Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque Affairs Officer Pengiran Ahmad Faris Ramadhani bin Pengiran Haji Sellahuddin said this in his Tazkirah titled ‘Imarahkan Rumah Allah Dengan Dakwah’ during the weekly pre-dawn talk at the Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque in the capital as part of the Masjidku Makmur, Negara Berkat programme.

He emphasised that great rewards will be given by Allah the Almighty to those who familiarise themselves with the mosque.

“Those who visit the mosque to perform worship are the guests of Allah the Almighty because the mosque itself is the House of Allah the Almighty, hence Allah the Almighty will honour His guests with various rewards and blessings,” he said.

Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Dato Seri Setia Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Yussof and Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Religious) at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Haji Mohd Serudin bin Haji Timbang also participated in the programme.
