Khalifa MMA team bags medals in Kota Kinabalu meet

Khalifa Mixed Martial Arts athletes showcased their grappling skills against worthy opponents in the Copa De Borneo Kota Kinabalu in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah recently, with the team hauling in five gold, six silver and five bronze medals.

Hadi Haseri bagged three gold medals in the Under-76kg Blue Belt category, Absolute division and the Luta Livre; while teammate Danish Jalal secured two gold medals in the Under-70kg Blue Belt and Luta Livre. Adi Elmi claimed a silver medal in the Under-70kg Luta Livre division.

In the White Belt category, Fakhrul Dahari bagged two silver medals in the Under-82kg Gi and No Gi. Raqeeb Suni won a silver medal in the Under-70 White Belt division.

Khoo clinched two silver medals in the Under-64kg category while Haziq secured two bronze medals in the Under-70kg category.

Newcomer Hadi Sibah also claimed a bronze medal in the No Gi Absolute division.

The only purple belt to compete, Haji Hadi, was placed third in both Gi and No Gi.

Saufi Jay won first place in the Luta Livre division.

Meanwhile, Toby Holland from The Refinery won a gold medal in the White Belt Under-86kg and a silver medal in the White Belt Absolute division.

The only female competitor from the Refinery, Angel Lepi, won a silver medal in the Absolute Blue Belt division.
