Academics attend Brunei Vision 2035 workshop

Sekretariat Tetap Wawasan Brunei 2035, Prime Minister’s Office and Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) are jointly conducting a series of workshops on Brunei Vision 2035, specifically for local academics at the university.

According to a press release, the series of workshops is aimed at aligning all relevant stakeholders and raising awareness on their roles and efforts towards achieving the Brunei Vision 2035 goals.

It is hoped to further strengthen cooperation, particularly among higher education institutions towards adapting the ‘Whole of Nation’ approach, and working towards more collaborative efforts to support Brunei Vision 2035.

The workshops being held for five consecutive days are being attended by 192 local academics from the university.

Yesterday’s workshop saw a briefing on Brunei Vision 2035 by officers from the Sekretariat Tetap Wawasan Brunei 2035, Prime Minister’s Office led by Acting Director of Sekretariat Tetap Wawasan Brunei 2035 Dr Hajah Huraini binti Pehin Orang Kaya Setia Jaya Dato Paduka Haji Hurairah. Also present was Acting Registrar and Secretary at UBD Hajah Maudena binti Haji Abdul Hamid.

Participants interacted and exchanged views on the implementation of the national vision, in particular the role of higher education institutions in supporting the national development agenda. UBD also discussed its Strategic Plan and how each of the strategic goals in the plan is aligned towards ensuring the success of the Brunei Vision 2035.

The workshops are part of the Communications Strategy of the Brunei Vision 2035 Supreme Council (Majlis Tertinggi Wawasan Brunei) which is aimed at strengthening the public’s awareness and understanding on the national vision.
