Following their journey starting from the Brunei-Muara District and heading to the Temburong District, over 40 youth aged of 15 to 25 years visited the Belait District as part of the Youth Bus Programme 2019 held in conjunction with the school holiday.

Arriving on Wednesday, the participants were welcomed to the district by Assistant Belait District Officer Abdol Hazis bin Haji Ahad at the Belait District Officer’s residence along Jalan Maulana, Kuala Belait.

During their stay in the Belait District, the participants visited companies and agencies in the district to help further expand their knowledge in the ever-growing industries and the use of technologies that had helped to streamline the process, in line with the programme’s theme Belia Pemacu Negara Maju: Belia Siaga Masa Depan.

They visited Progresif Cellular Sdn Bhd, where they attended a briefing entitled ‘Progressive Mind’ and took part in a sharing session with local entrepreneurs.

The following day, the youth visited Megamas Training Centre. They were welcomed at the centre by Executive Advisor Mohd Roger Ainsworth, General Manager Michael Stringer @ Mohd Firdaus Eswandi and Deputy General Manager of Megamas Haji Mahmud bin Haji Idris.

The youth observed the training courses conducted by local instructors who specialise in teaching specific set of skills and trainings such as Defensive Training, Fire Fighting and Offshore Survival.

The group also visited agricultural and farming sites in Kampong Labi.

The group stayed at the Mendaram Longhouse for the night where they experienced staying over at a traditional long house with its tight knit community.
