Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah donated BND5,000 to the Institute of Policy Studies at Universiti Brunei Darussalam (IPS UBD), to help cover part of the costs in hosting the inaugural International Islamic Governance Symposium to be held on September 14-15.
Permanent Secretary (Planning, Land Use and Environment) at the Ministry of Development Dr Nor Imtihan binti Haji Abdul Razak, in her capacity as Acting Managing Director of Yayasan, presented the cheque to Lecturer and Coordinator of the Graduate Programme at IPS UBD Norainie binti Ahmad.
The Belait Youth Association (PEMBELA); Hajah Aminah Religious Hall at Kampong Long Mayan, Tutong; the ‘Ibadurrahman Youth Group of the Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque in Pekan Tutong; and two victims of a house collapse and a fire accident, also received contributions from Yayasan.
Deputy Vice-President of PEMBELA Haji Roslan bin Haji Hamdan received BND15,000 to help fund the two-day Brunei Darussalam Youth Cultural Exchange and Conference 2019 (BDYCEC 2019) in Kuala Belait held from September 11-12.
Head Imam of Hajah Aminah Religious Hall Muhd Ghazali bin Muhd Ariffin received BND1,730 to organise the Menghalusi Fardhu Ain programme on October 1-4, held to further develop Islamic Syiar in Kampong Long Mayan which has a large number of Muslim converts.
Committee member of the ‘Ibadurrahman Youth Group Muhammad Firas bin Kalong/Ibrahim received a cheque for BND2,490 towards the support of the third ‘Dare to be Different’ (D2BD 3.0) camping activity on September 13-15.
Donations totalling BND8,150 were presented to Sabtu bin Timbul from Kampong Mentiri, who lost his home in a fire on August 2; and Haji Mohd Irni bin Haji Mohd Daud from Kampong Saba Darat, whose house collapsed on September 7.
