UBD marks new Islamic year with Fardhu ‘Ain course, Hijrah Camp

The Religious Committee of Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) held an opening ceremony for the Fardhu ‘Ain course and Hijrah Camp programme at the Senate Room of the Chancellor Hall, UBD yesterday to mark the new Islamic year 1441 Hijrah celebration.

Guest of honour UBD Vice-Chancellor Datin Dr Hajah Anita Binurul Zahrina binti Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Wijaya Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Aziz launched the event.

Principal officers, academic staff, officers and staff, UBD students and UBD Mosque Takmir committee were also present. The three-month course targets UBD students.

The event continued with a talk entitled Menuntut Ilmu itu Satu Kefardhuan by Al-Minhaaj Centre co-founder Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ajak. He highlighted the importance of demanding knowledge for individuals.

The event also saw the launch of the Hijrah Camp programme, which targets UBD students and youth aged 12 to 17.

The programme aims to produce independent and proactive youth.
