Two locals plead guilty to assault

A pair of colleagues will learn of their fate on September 28 after they pleaded guilty to assaulting a man with a weapon, and using bare hands besides damaging a car.

Locals 24-year-old Abdul Rahim bin Abdul Rahman and 21-year-old Awangku Mohammad Eaddyzul Amirzan Firdaus bin Pengiran Abdul Wahap, security guards of a company, worked the same shift on September 23 at 4.30am when Abdul Rahim told his colleague that his wife had an affair with a man. They then struck up a deal with the victim by phone to meet at the car park in Kampong Kiarong area.

At 6pm on the same day, the duo met and went to meet the victim.

The defendants interrogated the victim and demanded to see the victim’s phone and found lewd pictures of Abdul Rahim’s wife with the victim.

The duo started getting violent and Abdul Rahim took a metal pole from the car and hit the victim on his back and head repeatedly.

Awangku Mohammad Eaddyzul Amirzan Firdaus then slapped the victim’s face, punched and kicked the victim’s body. He also punched the victim’s car repeatedly causing damages.

Prosecutor Hajah ‘Adzimah Mukarsamah binti Haji Salleh’s represented the Public Prosecutor in the case. Magistrate Pengiran Hazirah binti Pengiran Haji Mohd Yusof deferred sentencing the duo to consider a fitting punishment.
