Their Royal Highnesses attend badminton meet

His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab Rahaman attended the Brunei National Open Badminton Championship 2019 at the Multi-Purpose Hall of The Centrepoint Hotel in Gadong last night.

Also in attendance were Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Muntaqim and Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Anak Muneerah Madhul Bolkiah.

Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Muntaqim defeated Md Al-Muttaqiy Billah bin Zulfa Erison in straight sets (21-18, 21-13) in the boys’ under-13 singles preliminary round.

Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Muntaqim’s reward of progressing to the quarterfinals is a tie against Zulfazlyana Izzaty tonight.

The semi-finals and final of the under-13 category will be held this Friday and Saturday, respectively.

Twelve players have been registered for the under-13 category with four players advancing to the quarterfinals.

The competition, which commenced last Saturday, also saw multiple categories last night being contested namely women’s doubles, mixed doubles ‘A’, mixed doubles ‘B’, under-18, men’s singles and mixed doubles.
