The Religious Youth Programme Division under the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) organised a Rehlah Ilmiah programme to mark new Islamic year of 1441 Hijrah yesterday.

The second installation of the programme took place at RPN Kampong Bukit Beruang in Tutong District.

It was organised in collaboration with the Mosque Affairs Department, Islamic Da’wah Centre and RPN Kampong Bukit Beruang Mosque.

Permanent Secretary at the MoRA Dato Seri Setia Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Yussof was the guest of honour.

Legislative Council member Yang Berhormat Haji Umarali bin Esung; Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Religious) at the MoRA Haji Mohd Serudin bin Haji Timbang; and senior government officers were also present.

The goals of the programme include more engagement in religious activities and health activities to avoid the effects of immoral symptoms such as drug use and theft.

It is also intended to inculcate physical and mental fitness, foster the spirit of love in the community and educate the community to work together.

The programme began with a mass Subuh prayer followed by the recitation of Surah Al-Wa’qiah and a religious talk titled ‘Health in Islam’. It ended with an exercise, a clean-up campaign and sapling planting session.
