Programme helps youth think from Islamic perspective

In an effort to convey the true identity of Islam, the Tasawwur Islami programme themed ‘Youth of Faith’ was conducted by the Imarah Division of the Mosque Affairs Department, in collaboration with the Syababurroja Youth Group of the Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah and Ashabul Halim Mosque Youth Group of Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Malik Mosque of Kampong Katok.

Around 100 participants from sixth form centres, higher educational institutions, mosque youth groups and individuals from all four districts took part in the three-day programme which started on September 12.

The programme was filled with an array of religious and social activities.

The closing ceremony was held at the Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Multipurpose Hall yesterday.

Present as the guest of honour was Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Dato Seri Setia Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Yussof.

Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Haji Abd Rajid bin Haji Mohd Salleh also attended.

The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah by Muhammad Farid Badruzzaman bin Basuni, and followed with remarks from Co-Chairman of the Tassawur Islami programme Termizi bin Haji Abu Bakar.

The event continued with a slideshow presentation of the programme activities, and more presentations on social issues also entrepreneurship by participants.

The highlight of the event was the prize presentation for the best slideshow competition and the best participant.

The Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam was recited by Awangku Muhd Waie Syazwan bin Pengiran Rozanan.

The programme aimed to raise awareness among youth on the importance of upholding their responsibilities and faith as a Muslim. It also aimed to teach them how to think from an Islamic perspective, and instil admirable qualities in them.
