DPMM FC head coach Adrian Pennock hailed the team effort of his charges after his side cruised to a 3-0 victory over Warriors FC in the AIA Singapore Premier League at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium last Saturday.

The Gegar Gegar men built a five-point lead last weekend to put them on the brink of a second championship title before Hougang United’s 4-4 draw against Geylang International FC the following day confirmed their position as league champions.

“It was a fantastic team effort. Andrei (Varankou) scored three very good goals but the team together was absolutely first class,” said Pennock in a post-match interview with the Singapore Premier League.

He added, “We’ve been putting pressure to teams around us. I thought we’ve played very well and we’ve been playing well for weeks.”

Meanwhile, Pennock’s opposite number Warriors first team coach Azlan Alipah highlighted DPMM FC’s consistency this the season.

“DPMM FC has been consistent throughout the season and it is not easy for us to play them. Furthermore, I congratulate them and they did very well this season. My players tried their best but luck was not on our side,” said Azlan.

The Brunei-based outfit will play their first game since being crowned as AIA Singapore Premier League champions against Tampines Rovers FC at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas tomorrow.
