Man thrown behind bars for trespassing, threatening, mischief

A local man was jailed for four months by the Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday for trespassing to annoy an occupant of a residence, making threats and mischief by causing damage.

Abdul Akbar @ Borhan bin Haji Dunglah, 36, who has criminal records relating to theft and the misuse of drugs, had trespassed into a residence in Kampong Wasan with the intention to annoy the occupant and committed mischief by causing damage to the property twice.

The first incident was on September 15, 2019 when the defendant trespassed and broke three glass window panes, three panels of a wooden fence to the house and three outdoor fence lights.The second time the defendant trespassed with the intention to annoy the occupant and damaged a side mirror to the occupant’s vehicle parked in the garage on September 17, 2019.

DPP Raihan Nabilah Ahmad Ghazali told Magistrate Dewi Norlelawati binti Haji Abdul Hamid that the defendant was motivated by anger and armed with a metal pole on both occasions, and shouted the occupant’s name trying to annoy him.

The house occupant was alarmed by the defendant’s acts on both occasions and hid in his house.
