Korean percussion group rocks audience

Korean percussion group Jin Myung rocked the audience with an electrifying performance at the Jerudong International School Arts Centre in Jerudong last night.

Organised by the Korean Embassy in Brunei Darussalam as part of the cultural night of the Korean Festival, the performance from the group comprising eight musicians saw musical pieces such as Chilche Puri farmer’s music in Gyeonggi and Chungcheong with a unique combination of complex beats, Dolgo from a Namsadang play and with beona acrobats spinning being staged.

The team of young percussion players showcased a dynamic, passionate and trendy show that was reinterpreted from Korean traditional performance for everybody to enjoy. The other performances include black hole, beatboxing, Janggu Marching and The Street.

Jin Myung has performed around the world for over 20 years to bring Korean traditional music to the modern global age through their drum beating and other skills.

Present at the event were Minister of Foreign Affairs II Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd Yusof and Korean Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Yoon Hyun-bong as well as members of the diplomatic community in Brunei.
