The launching of the Korean Festival 2019 was marked with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Times Square Shopping Centre last night by guest of honour Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin and spouse, Datin Nurhayana Janis binti Abdullah Lim.
Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Brunei Darussalam Yoon Hyun-bong and spouse, Park Shin So; President of Korean Association in Brunei Lee Chang Nam; Director of Korea Tourism Organization Shin Junghun; and General Manager of Times Square Amal Majidah binti Haji Suhaili were present.
The annual Korean Festival, hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea and jointly organised by Times Square Shopping Centre and Korea Tourism Organisation, is taking place until tomorrow at Times Square Shopping Centre lobby and atrium.
The highlight of the launching was a special guest appearance by Jin Myung musical group from South Korea, who will appear again at Times Square Shopping Centre tomorrow at 8.30pm. Exhibitors include the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, Ceragem, Sinar Holdings, Korea Tourism Organization and Pan Bright Travel Service.
The Korean Festival features fun-filled activities such as Hanbok dress-up, Taekwondo demonstrations, make-up and hair styling demonstration, Korean traditional games, cooking class, quizzes and Korean painting workshop. There will also be a lucky draw campaign where customers will need to visit the exhibitor’s booths to participate and collect a passport coupon at the lucky draw counter.
Customers must get a minimum of four stamps from the exhibitors to be eligible for the draw.
The prize presentation for the lucky draw will be held tomorrow at 8.30pm.
