Chinese martial art on show at Jerudong

Thousands thronged to Jerudong Park (JP) Amphitheatre last night to witness an acrobatic performance by martial artists from China during the Night of Chinese Cultural Tourism sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China and the Embassy of China in Brunei Darussalam.

The 60-min show was held in conjunction with the 70th anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China.

Present to grace the performance were Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Aziz bin Pengiran Jaya Negara Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar, Chief of Adat Istiadat Negara.

Some 50 performers from the home town of Wushu and Taiji in China enthralled crowds with all kinds of distinctive Shaolin Kungfu and martial arts display, combining Zen boxing, weaponry ,internal strength and combat skills.

Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Brunei Darussalam Yu Hong extended her sincere appreciation for the strong support from Brunei-China Friendship Association to the event.

Cabinet Ministers, prominent business leaders and the Chinese community in Brunei were also present.
