Bruneian Al-Azhar graduates attend convocation ceremony

Thirty-nine final year graduates from Al-Azhar Asy-Syarif University and Ma’had Qira’at Shoubra, Cairo, Egypt recently had their convocation ceremony at Louvre Heights Hall, El Zohour Club, Cairo.

The guest of honour was Deputy President of Al-Azhar Asy-Syarif University for Education and Student Affairs Section Dr Yousef Amir.

He was greeted upon arrival by Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to the Arab Republic of Egypt Pengiran Haji Mustapa bin Pengiran Haji Aliuddin, Chairman of the convocation ceremony Abdul Azim bin Haji Adanan, Vice Chairman Nazihah binti Husaini and senior officers of the Embassy of Brunei Darussalam in the Arab Republic of Egypt, family members of the graduates that flew all the way from Brunei Darussalam for the convocation ceremony.

Abdul Azim thanked His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam; Ministry of Religious Affairs and relevant government agencies who have assisted in the learning process as well as Brunei Embassy in Egypt.

On behalf of the students, he also expressed their gratefulness to their parents who work tireless for the success of their children while in Egypt and listening to their grievances and joy as well their sacrifice all these years in educating them to be successful persons in life, albeit thousands of miles away from home.
