Brunei Bird Race Series set for Oct 5-6

Bird watchers are invited to join the Labi Edition of the Brunei Bird Race Series (BBRS) 2019, which will take place on October 5-6, at Mukim Labi in the Belait District.

This third instalment of the BBRS 2019 is organised by the Tourism Development Department under the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism, with the support of relevant government agencies, non-government organisations and private companies.

The race is open for avid bird watchers aged 12 years and above, as well as photographers and nature lovers.

It will be held at key points in Mukim Labi, such as the Bukit Teraja Waterfall, the Wasai Wong Kadir Recreational Park, the Luagan Lalak Forest Recreation Park and the Andulau Forest Reserve trail behind the Tropical Biodiversity Centre building, which is also a part of the Heart of Borneo conservation area.

The flag-off event will take place at 3pm on October 5, at the Tropical Biodiversity Centre (TBC) in Kampong Bukit Puan, while the race is expected to conclude at 10.30am the next day, followed by a prize-giving ceremony.

Online registration at www.brunei.events starts today, until September 28, with an individual participation fee of BND32.

Each participant will get an official BBRS 2019 Labi Edition jersey, a goodie bag and an e-certificate of participation.
