Ahanapiah bags Malaysia Day Golf Tournament title

Ahanapiah bin Haji Md Noor emerged winner of the men’s nett category in the Malaysia Day Golf Tournament 2019 after carding a score of 70 at the Pantai Mentiri Golf Club yesterday.

Tony Karim secured second place with a score of 71 while Major Haji Wadi Wadera came in third place with a score of 72.

Meanwhile, Tony won the men’s gross title after he bested the field with a score of 75 followed by Ahanapiah who carded a score of 78 and Menuddin bin Haji Md Daud in third place with a score 79.

In the Division ‘B’ category, Haji Shahrum Kadir clinched top spot after a score of 71 OCB (On Count Back) followed by Colonel Kamarudzaman bin Thani in second place and Safrin Md Noor in third place.

Pengiran Haji Yaakub bin Pengiran Haji Salleh won Division ‘C’ after posting a score of 71 while Captain Norsharnizam Haji Talib finished a shot behind with a 72 OCB and Ting Kung Dee finishing third.

Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof was the guest of honour.

Malaysian High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam Ismail bin Haji Salam was also present.

The competition was jointly organised by the Malaysian High Commission in Brunei Darussalam and the Peninsular Malaysia Malay Welfare Association in Brunei Darussalam.
