Anthony Abell College (AAC) beat Panaga School 4-0 in a friendly football match at the Panaga Club football field in Seria recently.
Sixteen students from Panaga School led by head coach Andy Mckay, and nine from AAC led by education officer Abdul Hakim bin Haji Ahmad as coach took part in the match. The friendly match aimed to strengthen relationship between the Year 7 and 8 students from both schools and help them hone their football skills.
The game was split into three rounds with 20 minutes in each round. In the first round, both teams started strongly but ended goalless.
AAC ramped up the game in the second round scoring three goals back to back. In the final round, AAC scored another one to finish the game on a high.
Panaga School’s physical education teacher Nathan Edwards welcomed the AAC team.
“Opportunities such as this is also a great way to help encourage students to partake in healthy sports activities, all the while helping to further instill the friendly spirit of sportsmanship among the children,” Nathan Edwards said.
