The much anticipated 25th Toyota Classics, scheduled to be held on October 26 will feature the renowned London Chamber Orchestra (LCO) and is co-organised by NBT (Brunei) Sdn Bhd and Toyota Motor Asia Pacific (TMAP).

The LCO will be under the baton of multiple awards winning conductor, Principal Conductor and Music Director Christopher Warren-Green. Audiences can be assured of yet another top-notch performance as the London Chamber Orchestra serves up a potpourri of timeless classical melodies from great artistes which include Leigh’s The Impossible Dream, Neruda’s Trumpet Concerto and Mozart’s Symphony No 40 amongst others.

This year’s Toyota Classics will, as usual, feature the Brunei Darussalam national anthem, but unlike previous years, popular Disney Movie soundtracks, such as Aladdin will be featured.

Founded in 1921, the London Chamber Orchestra is the oldest professional chamber orchestra in the United Kingdom. It comprises some of the top musicians in London and has a rich history at the heart of classical music over the last 100 years.

This innovative and adventurous orchestra works with world-renowned soloists and conductors, as well as young emerging talents to break down the barriers between the orchestra and the audience, allowing all to share in the experience of live music.

The total proceeds from the Toyota Classics 2019 ticket sales will be donated to two charities – Pusat Ehsan Al-Hajjah Maryam and An-Nur Harapan.

NBT Managing Director and Chairman of the Toyota Classics 2019 Organising Committee Haji Ahmad Omar bin Haji Husin said, “The Toyota Classics 2019 is expected to be well-supported not only because of the quality of the orchestra, but also because it is a fundraising effort for deserving charities. As we had sell-out crowds the last few years, music enthusiasts are advised to purchase their tickets early to secure their seats. Leaving it to the very last minute, may result in disappointment.”

To date, the Toyota Classics has raised nearly BND1,800,000 from ticket sales for deserving charities in Brunei Darussalam since 1990.
