ONE of the artworks currently exhibited at the ‘Art of Travel’ by Dato Paduka Haji Shofry bin Haji Abdul Ghafor at the Dermaga Diraja Art Gallery at the Bandar Seri Begawan is being put up for a silent auction.

All proceeds from the painting’s sale will be donated to acquire art materials for Lambak Kiri Secondary School students.

The artwork for the auction is an impressionist painting of the Tutong waterfront.

Members of the public can go to the exhibition and fill in their names, phone numbers and how much they are bidding.

The minimum bid is BND1,000. The winning bid will be announced on August 28 at 10am.

The artwork depicts landscapes and sceneries of various countries visited by Dato Paduka Haji Shofry since 2003. It is a rare opportunity to see the countries from the eyes of one of the senior local artists.

The ‘Art of Travel’ is a solo exhibition by Dato Paduka Haji Shofry. About 60 of his artworks are currently on display at the Dermaga Diraja Art Gallery.

The gallery is open during office hours including Fridays and Sundays.
