ON AUGUST 6, 2018, the Land Transport Department (JPD) issued the ‘Kenyataan Tawaran Keluaran Khas Bilangan Pendaftaran Kenderaan Fasa Kedua’ in conjunction with the Golden Jubilee Celebration of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s Accession to the Throne, stating under item 6 that “successful tenders would have to pay the fee in full in six months”.
This delighted many people.
However, on July 13 this year, JPD issued award letters to successful tenders stating that they now have to pay the full tender fee in one month’s time.
Does the JPD think that by changing the time period, it wouldn’t affect the tenderer’s ability to pay the tender fee?
Paying thousands of dollars for the tender in a month’s time is unthinkable. The previous period of six months is more acceptable.
Can the JPD consider making the time period as six months as they stated before?
