Seven awarded for prompt action in dousing fires

The Fire and Rescue Department (FRD) recently paid tribute to seven civilians who risked their lives to put out fires in two separate incidents.

Pengiran Abu Bakar bin Pengiran Haji Mohammad, Azman bin Salleh, Ibrahim bin Haji Ahmad, Hifdzul Hakim bin Amir Anuar, Abdul Hafiz bin Haji Ahmad and Mohammad Noorsaifuddin bin Haji Ahmad were presented with the Community Service Award certificates for helping when a neighbour’s car burst into flames on August 25, at STKRJ Kampong Katok ‘B’.

The certificates were presented by Commanding Officer at Operation ‘A’ branch, Senior Superintendent of Fire and Rescue Noor Aflan bin Kachi. Also in attendance were Station Officer and Public Relations Officer of Operation ‘A’ branch Pengiran Haji Muhamad bin Pengiran Tengah, and Assistant Station Officer Ali Yusuf bin Haji Matzin.

In another ceremony, Md Saifullah bin Haji Yahya received his Community Service Award certificate for extinguishing a fire that broke out at his home in Kampong Jerudong on August 25.

His certificate was presented by Commanding Officer of Operation ‘F’ branch, Acting Senior Superintendent of Fire and Rescue Haji Nordin bin Haji Buntan.

Deputy Commanding Officer of Operation ‘F’ branch, Assistant Superintendent of Fire and Rescue Suhaimi bin Haji Muhammad along with Head of Public Relations and the Technical Division of the Operation ‘F’ branch, Station Officer Aliman bin Haji Salleh were also present.
