Senior citizens join 73 times Khatam Al-Quran ceremony

Over 600 senior citizens participated in the 73 times Khatam Al-Quran ceremony at the Suri Seri Begawan Raja Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque, in conjunction with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 73rd birthday celebration, yesterday.

The guests of honour were Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, and spouse.

The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and a welcoming address by Chairman of the ceremony Haji Abdul Hakim bin Haji Mohd Yassin.

The ceremony proceeded with the reading of verses from Al-Quran by the Khatam participants led by Abdul Rahim bin Begawan Pehin Siraja Khatib Dato Seri Setia Haji Mohd Tamin followed by the recitation of Takhtim, Doa Khatam, Dikir Marhaban and prayers led by Imam of the Suri Seri Begawan Raja Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque Zuzli bin Haji Jumat.
