Sacrificial meat distributed in Korban ceremonies

THE Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications (MTIC) and departments under it organised Korban and Aqiqah ceremonies in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidiladha celebrations at the ministry’s Amar Pahlawan Hall yesterday.

Minister of Transport and Infocommunications Dato Seri Setia Abdul Mutalib bin Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Mohammad Yusof was the guest of honour.

This year, nine buffaloes and a cow were slaughtered. The sacrificial meat was distributed by the guest of honour among the special recipients, orphans, asnaf fakir miskin, and officers and staff of the MTIC and its departments.

The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by Takbir Raya and continued with a special religious talk by Religious Affairs Officer at the Islamic Da’wah Centre Haji Muhammad Naqib bin Haji Awang.

Permanent secretary, deputy permanent secretary, Chief Executive of Authority for Infocommunications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam, Chief Executive of Maritime and Port Authority of Brunei Darussalam (MPABD) as well as directors, senior officials and staff of MTIC and departments under it were also present.

THE Department of Councils of State commemorated Hari Raya Aidiladha with a sacrificial rites ceremony at the Legislative Council Building in Jalan Dewan Majlis yesterday.

Secretary to the Cabinet Ministers’ Council & Clerk to Councils Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Jaya Dato Paduka Awang Haji Judin bin Haji Asar was the guest of honour.

Two cows were sacrificed and the meat distributed among 14 selected recipients by the guest of honour.

The ceremony began with the Takbir Hari Raya, followed by the presentation of the sacrificial meats.

Among those benefactors of the two cows were Speaker of the Legislative Council Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Dato Setia Haji Mohamed Taib; Secretary to the Cabinet Ministers’ Council & Clerk to Councils; as well as staff of the department.

Jerudong Park Country Club Sdn Bhd

JERUDONG Park Country Club Sdn Bhd (JPCC) hosted a sacrificial rites ceremony at its headquar-ters yesterday to commemorate Hari Raya Aidiladha.

Four buffaloes were sacrificed and distributed among 28 selected members of the community.

After the packing of the meat was completed, the event proceeded with a sermon by Hanafi bin Haji Zaini.

In attendance to distribute the meat was a member of JPCC’s Board of Director Johan bin Dato Paduka Dr Haji Johar and General Manager of JPCC Hajah Siti Suhaila Dato Paduka Haji Kani. Prior to the distribution of the meat, there was also a Takbir Raya led by three of JPCC staff.

The event aimed to reap blessings and strengthen the bond among JPCC staff.

Saudaraku Kg Setia group

SAUDARAKU Kg Setia group of Purih Kampong Ranggau held a sacrificial ceremony at a members’ residence at RPN Mengkubau recently.

The meat was distributed by Village Head of Kampong Setia ‘A’ Haji Asli bin Haji Mamut among 34 poor and needy individuals from Kampong Setia ‘A’ and ‘B’, ceremony participants and Saudaraku Kg Setia group members. Seven participants participated in the contributions to the sacrificial ceremony.

The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, Takbir Raya and Doa Selamat led by Haji Zulhilmi bin Haji Lakat. The religious gathering is an annual event to gain multiple rewards from Allah the Almighty and forge closer ties among its members.

DST Sdn Bhd

DST Sdn Bhd organised a Korban ceremony at its Headquarters at Tungku Link yesterday as part of the annual Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration.

Seven buffaloes and four cows were sacrificed in Lampaki, Mulaut and delivered to the DST Headquarters for distribution.

Chairman of the DST Korban Working Committee Manager of Group Facilities Management in DST Ampuan Shahmali bin Ampuan Haji Said led the event.

Guest of honour Acting Managing Director of Brunei Investment Agency in his capacity as DST Board of Directors member Haji Sofian bin Mohammad Jani distributed the sacrificial meat among over 300 recipients comprising the poor and destitute and DST employees.

Acting Chief Executive Officer of DST Radin Sufri bin Radin Basiuni, DST management members and staff were also present.

The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Fariszal bin Ali, followed by the Takbir Raya and presentation of the sacrificial meat.

THE Ministry of Finance and Economy held a Korban ceremony in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration at the ministry’s Theatre Hall yesterday.

Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah was the guest of honour.

Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy (Economy) Dato Seri Paduka Dr Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin, permanent secretaries, heads of departments and divisions, officers and staff at the Ministry of Finance and Economy and departments under it were also present.

The sacrificial meat from nine cows and two goats were handed out to 65 recipients.

The guest of honour also distributed the sacrificial meat among 90 recipients comprising the poor.

This year’s event, organised by the Royal Customs and Excise Department, is an annual religious activity held by the Ministry of Finance and Economy and departments under it.
