RIPAS Hospital receives Sarawak delegation

Sarawak Badan Amal Tenaga Isteri-Isteri (SABATI) members yesterday visited the Women and Children’s Centre and Children’s Cancer Foundation (YASKA) at the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital.

SABATI President and spouse of the Sarawak Chief Minister Datuk Amar Hajah Juma’ani binti Tun Tuanku Haji Bujang led the delegation.

The delegation was accompanied by members of the Association of Wives of Cabinet Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Permanent Secretaries and Deputy Permanent Secretaries and its associates. Rosita Ismail, the wife of the High Commissioner of Malaysia to Brunei Darussalam, was also present.

Datin Dr Hajah Noraslinah binti Haji Ramlee, the wife of the Minister of Health, welcomed the delegation.

Chief Executive Officer of RIPAS Hospital Haji Abdul Khalid As’ari bin Haji Azahari, Head of the Obesity and Gynaecology Department Dr Hajah Siti Noor Azmah binti Abdullah, Head of the Paediatric Department Dr Soon Ing Shian, senior officers from the Ministry of Health and nurses were also on hand to welcome the delegation.

At YASKA, the delegation was welcomed by the Paediatric Oncology Consultant Dr Hajah Norehan binti Haji Johari in her capacity as YASKA Advisor, and Deputy President of YASKA ‘Tsara Nawarrah binti Abdullah Chen.

The visit provided the delegation a closer look at the latest facilities at the Women and Children’s Centre and YASKA in enhancing health among women and children.

The Association of Wives of Cabinet Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Permanent Secretaries and Deputy Permanent Secretaries and its associates also held a dinner reception for the SABATI members at the Tarindak d’Polo of the Royal Brunei Polo and Riding Club in Jerudong.

The spouse of Minister of Home Affairs and the Association’s Chairperson II Datin Paduka Hajah Jahrah binti Haji Mohamad welcomed the visiting delegation.

Malaysian High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam was also present. Speeches were delivered by Datin Paduka Hajah Jahrah and Deputy President II of SABATI Dato Hajah Morliah binti Datuk Haji Awang Daud.

The ceremony continued with the presentation of prizes to winners of the friendly bowling tournament at the Utama Bowling Centre.
