REFURBISHMENT works on Stage 4 and 5 of the Bukit Barun Water Treatment Plant in Tutong is in the process of implementation, the Public Works Department (JKR), Ministry of Development said yesterday.

According to a JKR press release, “The refurbishment works are very important to ensure that the Bukit Barun Water Treatment Plant, which is over 28-year-old, can work effectively and efficiently to help produce cleaner water in the future.

Refurbishment works are expected to finish by next year.

The department apologised to the public, especially residents of RPN Kampong Maragang, for the water disruptions due low water levels experienced at the main water tank in Terunjing.

The department said maintenance works are on-going to rectify the problem.

“Residences in RPN Kampong Maragang can get water supply from blue tanks allocated at RPN Kampong Meragang Recreational Park. The public is advised to bring along their water bottles or containers,” explained JKR.

The public is encouraged to exercise prudent water usage and less wastage, and to report any water related grievances to the Darussalam line 123.
