A total of 25 students accompanied by 10 staff members of Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam from the Belait District and Bengkurong branch are participating in the three-day-two-night visit to Belait District from August 16-18.

Pusat Ehsan Kuala Belait branch Manager Hamimah binti Sapar said the annual activity aimed to foster closer relationship between the students and to provide opportunities to interact with the community.

This year, the visit was extended to three days to provide time for the students to visit more places of interest in the Belait District, she added.

The group first visited the Grand Seria Bowling Centre to enjoy rounds of bowling games and watch movies at the cinema.

The group visited Bestari Community Centre (PMB) in Kampong Pandan the next day and was welcomed by PMB President K Salim bin A Karim and participated in basket weaving activity and yoga session.

The group then made a visit to the Parrot Kingdom at Kampong Pandan 8 to view and interact with animals including parrots, reptiles and cats.

Owner of Parrot Kingdom Pengiran Zulaihi bin Pengiran Besar, his wife Aini binti Haji Abdul Rahman and family members briefed the group on the animals at the centre and encouraged the students to feed the animals.

The students presented a canvas painting as a token of appreciation to PMB and Parrot Kingdom.

The group will visit Golden Jubilee Recreational Park for fitness activities today as their final event.
