Pusat Ehsan to hold charity event in October

Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam is holding a Charity Fun Walk/Run/Cycle 2019 on October 27 at 6am at the Indoor Stadium in Berakas.

This is the third time that Pusat Ehsan will hold the event, with 1,500 participants expected to take part.

This was highlighted by Co-Chairperson of the Charity Fun Walk/Run/Cycle 2019 Nurul Huda binti Haji Muhin at a press briefing at Pusat Ehsan yesterday. Also in attendance was Co-Chairperson Pengiran Sarimah binti Pengiran Haji Abdul Latiff.

The centre hopes for more participants this year since the event is not geared as a competition but rather a fun walk/run/cycle event.

The categories of the event are 5km fun walk or fun run for people of all abilities including those from the special needs community while the 25km category is for cycling enthusiasts.

Nurul Huda added that the aim of raising funds for Pusat Ehsan to assist the growing operating costs will benefit the special needs community of the centre to live a meaningful life in society. The funds will be raised to help individuals with special needs apart from instilling awareness to the community to advocate their rights and needs.

The people who will participate in the event will not only enjoy their time but also support a meaningful cause, whereby all the money raised from the charity event will benefit their local charity, which is Pusat Ehsan, a non-profit, non-governmental organisation dedicated to providing quality education, training and rehabilitation services to people with special needs in Brunei.

The year’s event will also showcase prizes on offer for participants. The lucky draw cash grand prizes are BND2,000 (first prize), BND1,000 (second prize) and BND500 (third prize) for the winners and a lot more.

Registration is now open and the fee is BND20 with the form available at Pusat Ehsan Bengkurong branch at Simpang 66-38-60, Kampong Bengkurong and its Kuala Belait branch from Monday-Friday, 8.30am-4pm and Saturday from 8.30am-12noon.

The finishers at the Charity Fun Walk/Run/Cycle event are entitled to a T-shirt, lucky draw ticket and a medal. Those interested to join or know more about the event can call at 2650423.

Nurul Huda added that Pusat Ehsan is delighted over the great support of its current partners and supporters. The centre still hopes for more sponsors and supporters to come participate in the charity event. Roadshows will be informed on a later date on their social media.

Meanwhile, the High Commission of India in Brunei Darussalam organised a cultural event highlighting folk dance at Pusat Ehsan yesterday.
