“The competition’s aim was to not only help foster closer relationship with cat caretakers and lovers, but also to showcase the efforts that went into taking care of the cats by their owners,” competition chairperson Hajah Julia binti Chee said.

She said the cats and their owners were able to compete in various categories.

These included the Healthiest, Most Photogenic, Most Unique, The Largest, as well as the coveted Best of the Best category.

“In addition, we also have four categories for various species of cats participating, which include Persian, Mix Breed, Common Cats, and Siamese Cats Category,” Hajah Julia added.

There was a lower turnout for the competition due to some of the cats being sick, Hajah Julia said.

“Hopefully we will have more cat owners registering and participating in the competition we plan to conduct annually, which not only allows the owners to spend time with their cats in meaningful ways, but also helps showcase their love for cats,” she added.
