Maju Motors Sdn Bhd is now the importer and principal for the SKODA brand in Brunei after the dealership, along with Volkswagen Group Singapore, inked a partnership at the new SKODA showroom in Jalan Telanai yesterday.
Signing on-behalf of Maju Motors was General Manager Awangku Mohamad Abdul Aziz bin Pengiran Ratna Wijaya Brigadier General (Rtd) Pengiran Haji Hasnan, while representing Volkswagen Group Singapore was General Managing Director Ricky Tay while SKODA Auto International was represented by the Head of International Sales Axel Schroeder.

With the addition of SKODA to Maju Motors portfolio, the dealership will have an even stronger lineup of cars targetted at different value segments of the market.
SKODA originated from the Czech Republic founded by Laurin & Klement in 1895 making it the third oldest car manufacturer in the world. Today SKODA has earned the reputation for cars that offer excellent price-performance ratio, in terms of its design, quality and technologies.
According to Axel Schroeder, the launch signifies the brand’s expanding footprint and an important step to further their international presence. “We look forward to working hand in hand with Maju Motors, our official distributor, to drive the growth and success of SKODA in Brunei.”
He added that since being incorporated into the Volkswagen Group in 1991, SKODA has grown from strength to strength delivering a record breaking 1,253,700 vehicles in 2018.
Meanwhile, Ricky Tay said that less than a year since the SKODA Brand was introduced in Singapore, it has proven itself as the smart choice for Singaporeans.
“Together with Maju Motors, our intention is to bring the SKODA smart brand and its line-up of award-winning models to meet the needs of Brunei car buyers as well.
“With the addition of SKODA to the portfolio, we are now better equipped to meet requirements in versatility, space, safety technologies and budget to cater to the different customer segments in Brunei,” he said.
Maju Motors will bring in the brand’s bestsellers which include the Octavia and the Octavia RS245 sedan; the premium sedan, Superb; the seven-seater SUV, Kodiaq; and the cross-over SUV, Karoq.
