The Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF) received a visit from Chief of Army, Malaysian Army General Dato’ Seri Panglima Haji Ahmad Hasbullah bin Haji Mohd Nawawi at the RBLF Headquarters, Berakas Garrison as part of his introductory visit to Brunei Darussalam from August 21-23.
Upon arrival at the RBLF Headquarters, General Dato’ Seri Panglima Haji Ahmad Hasbullah was received by Commander of the RBLF Brigadier General Dato Seri Pahlawan Khairul Hamed bin Haji Lampoh, followed by the inspection of the guard of honour mounted by the personnel of First Battalion and Third Battalion of RBLF.
General Dato’ Seri Panglima Haji Ahmad Hasbullah then proceeded with his meeting with the Commander of the RBLF.
During the courtesy call, both highlighted the close military relations and the positive trajectory of cooperation between the two land forces, bolstered through exchanges of visits, courses, and exercises.
As part of his visit programme, General Dato’ Seri Panglima Haji Ahmad Hasbullah also paid an introductory visit to Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof.
During the call, both sides expressed satisfaction upon the close and longstanding defence relations enjoyed between Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia.
The Minister of Defence II highlighted the growing interactions between RBLF and the Malaysian Army. Both armed forces engage regularly in a wide range of professional exchanges and bilateral exercises.
The Malaysian Chief of Army will pay a courtesy visit to Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Major General Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud at the Ministry of Defence (MinDef) today.
General Dato’ Seri Panglima Haji Ahmad Hasbullah also visited the RBAF Museum and RBAF Simulation Training Centre.
An official dinner hosted by the Commander of the RBLF was also held at the Officers’ Mess at the Berakas Garrison.
The dinner was attended by Chief of Staff RBLF, senior officers and officers of RBLF and their spouses.
General Dato’ Seri Panglima Haji Ahmad Hasbullah was appointed the Chief of Army of the Malaysian Army on September 3, 2018.
