THE Brunei-Muara District Office yesterday handed over to Muslims sacrificial (Korban) meat contributed by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and members of the royal family, in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidiladha.
Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud was the guest of honour.
Legislative Council members, Acting Brunei-Muara District Officer Mohamad Yassin bin Haji Ahmed, senior officers and staff at the Brunei-Muara District Office, mukim penghulus and village heads from the Brunei-Muara District also attended.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat by Acting Village Head of Kampong Bolkiah ‘A’ Shahminan bin Haji Matzin, followed by Takbir Hari Raya Aidiladha led by the guest of honour.
Acting Brunei-Muara District Officer expressed gratitude to the penghulu and village heads for assisting in the distribution.
The distribution of sacrificial meat by the guest of honour followed.
The event was attended by 60 recipients from the Community Development Department (JAPEM) comprising welfare recipients, single mothers and senior citizens, as well as penghulus and village heads representing recipients from the Brunei Islamic Religious Council (MUIB).
The event was held at the Brunei-Muara District Office at the Old Airport in Berakas.
