PUTRAJAYA (Bernama) – The first rehearsal for the Malaysia’s National Day 2019 parade and celebrations began yesterday at the Putrajaya Square.
The rehearsal which started at 8am and ended at noon was participated by various contingents comprising security forces personnel and school children involved in a show of human graphics formation and field events.
National Department for Culture and Arts (JKNN) Director-General Tan Sri Norliza Rofli said this year, of the 15,910 participants, 4,300 were students, adding that 391 assets belonging to the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) and the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) would be utilised for the parade.
“This is our first practice session together, as prior to this the respective teams had been training on their own. The rehearsal was held today to identify the contingents, determine the sequence of events and to acclimate the participants to the venue,” she said when met after the rehearsal yesterday.
Norliza also lauded the students’ commitment and show of enthusiasm despite having to stay back late and going through the grueling training, to perfect their moves for the National Day celebrations.
