His Majesty receives Malaysia’s Agong

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam received His Majesty the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah and Her Majesty the Raja Permaisuri Agong, Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah binti Al-Marhum Al-Mutawakkil Alallah Sultan Iskandar Al-Haj, in a welcoming ceremony at Cheradi Laila Kenchana, Istana Nurul Iman yesterday.

Their Majesties first welcomed the arrival of His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and Her Majesty the Raja Permaisuri Agong at the Istana Nurul Iman. Their Majesties, together with His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, then received the royal salute on the royal dais, accompanied by the national anthems of both countries and a 21-gun salute. Their Majesties then inspected the guard of honour mounted by members of the Royal Brunei Land Force.

Members of the royal family; Cabinet Ministers; deputy ministers; senior officers and their respective spouses were then introduced to His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and Her Majesty the Raja Permaisuri Agong.

Subsequently, members of the Malaysian royal family and members of the Malaysian delegation were introduced to Their Majesties.

Shortly after, an audience ceremony was held at Cheradi Laila Kenchana.

Accompanying His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and Her Majesty the Raja Permaisuri Agong were Yang Amat Mulia Tengku Puteri Raja Tengku Puteri Afzan Aminah Hafizatullah binti Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah; Yang Amat Mulia Tengku Puteri Raja Tengku Puteri Jihan Azizah ‘Athiyatullah binti Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah; Yang Amat Mulia Tengku Puteri Seri Kemala Tengku Hajah Dato’ Aishah binti Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah; and Yang Amat Mulia Tengku Puteri Seri Lela Manja Tengku Dato Hajah Nong Fatimah binti Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah.

Also in attendance was Minister of Home Affairs Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Hj Apong as Minister-in-Attendance.

During the audience ceremony, His Majesty presented the Royal Family Order of the Crown of Brunei (DKMB) to His Majesty the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia; and presented the Most Esteemed Family Order Laila Utama (DK) to Her Majesty the Raja Permaisuri Agong.

Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri then received the royal Malaysian honour of the Most Exalted Order of the Crown of the Realm (DMN) which was awarded by His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia.

His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and Her Majesty the Raja Permaisuri Agong are in Brunei Darussalam on a three-day State Visit. This is His Majesty’s first State Visit after being installed as the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong on July 30, 2019. The State Visit of His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia and Her Majesty the Raja Permaisuri Agong clearly reflects the enhancement and preservation of goodwill and friendly ties between the royal families and peoples of the two countries.
