A total of 48 local and overseas teams are competing in the Petanque Mixed Doubles President Trophy.
The competition was officiated yesterday by President of Brunei Darussalam Petanque Federation (BDPF) Haji Mohamad bin Panglima Asgar Dato Paduka Haji Abdullah as the guest of honour.
Taking place at the Petanque Court Complex at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex, the competition is organised by the BDPF with the cooperation of the Youth and Sports Department at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports. Among the countries taking part in the competition include Malaysia’s Sabah, Sarawak and Perak, as well as Singapore.
The competition aims to unearth talented petanque players for the sport’s future as well as increase interest in petanque.
