Koperasi Usahajaya PEKIRA Berhad (KUPB), a cooperative of former government servants, is proving its growth once again by distributing three per cent of profits from the cooperative filling station business this year.
Chairman of the PEKIRA Bhd Cooperative Board Pengiran Haji Sharifuddin bin Pengiran Haji Metali announced this at the 9th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held last Sunday at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas.
One of the initiatives undertaken by the cooperative board in enhancing its sales performance was to provide a purchase bonus to 10 shareholders who made the highest purchase at the cooperative filling station.
The chairman added that to remember the efforts made by former co-operative board members, the co-op will be publishing a book, KUPB Memory, which will serve as a platform to revive efforts in creating cooperatives as seen today.
Members with material for the book can submit it to the Publishing Committee. The Cooperative Financial Report ending May 31, 2019 presented by the treasurer showed significant sales improvement throughout the year, with the sales turnover surpassing BND500,000 a month. The meeting also reappointed and retained the members of the Co-operative Session Board 2018/2019 to manage the administration for the 2019/2020 session.
