Jerudong Primary School holds fire drill

Some 467 students including teachers and staff of Jerudong Primary School participated in a fire drill recently. The activity was conducted by Public Relations Section, Operation ‘F’ Branch of the Fire and Rescue Department.

The scenario of the fire drill involved a fire that broke out at one of the room at the basement floor of a building. Immediate evacuation was carried out. Nine firefighters with two fire engines from Jerudong Fire Station were rushed to the scene to put out the fire. The operation was led by Deputy Fire Station Officer Serudin bin Haji Osman.

The activity aimed to check the readiness and preparedness of fire personnel and at the same time served as practical training for the fire personnel in rescue and putting out fire.

The training also enhanced awareness and instilled a sense of responsibility in fire safety in schools.
