The Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) Sultan Saiful Rijal Campus conducted a three-hour blood donation drive with cooperation from the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital Blood Donation Centre yesterday.

Twenty-three individuals stepped forward to donate for a good cause at the IBTE Common Room, Student Resource Centre.

IBTE Sultan Saiful Rijal Campus representative Azlan said the drive was part of an ongoing project under IBTE Central, comprising IBTE Sultan Saiful Rijal Campus, IBTE Business Campus, IBTE Mechanical Campus and IBTE Nakhoda Ragam Campus. The project will be held on a rotational basis at the four campuses every two weeks.

“We have been working closely with the Blood Donation Centre and it is part of our initiatives to educate students on the importance of donating blood and helping to save lives,” he continued.

Two weeks prior to the campaign, Blood Donation Centre officials delivered a talk at the IBTE Sultan Saiful Rijal Campus on the benefits of donating blood.

The drive hopes to help increase reserves at the Blood Donation Centre and to raise awareness on the importance of donating blood.
