Mulia Hotel became the first hotel in Brunei to feature the AliPay payment system after it signed a partnership deal with Beep Solutions yesterday.
The hotel features the payment system at four outlets – Front Desk, Goldiana & Café Restaurant, Vanda Chinese Restaurant and the Lobby Souvenir Shop.
The partnership allows Mulia Hotel to facilitate their guests from China better by providing convenience for payments and to increase business specifically in the food and beverage area.
Statistics from the hotel’s in-house guest classification report recorded 14,867 guests from China staying at the hotel from January to July this year.
This is an increase of 50 per cent from the 2018 report and can be attributed to the direct flights provided from Nanning, Changsa, Haikou and Kunming to Brunei and upcoming flight from Beijing as well as continuous marketing by local travel agents and Royal Brunei Airlines in promoting the country as a tourist destination.
The hotel strives to make “guests’ travel experience as seamless as possible” said Mulia Operations Manager, Iswandi Maaruf.
“In the hotel industry, we are always looking for ways to enhance guests’ overall experience. We expect the AliPay payment system to be well received by Chinese travellers.”
