A DELEGATION from Hanoi, Vietnam, paid working visits to Brunei Darussalam, Myanmar, and Indonesia recently.

Vice Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee Dao Duc Toan led the delegation during the July 28 to August 8 trip.

The trips aimed to foster the exchange of delegations between Hanoi and major ASEAN cities to strengthen friendship in the run up to 2020, when Vietnam takes over the ASEAN Chairmanship.

During a working session with Chairman of the Bandar Seri Begawan Municipal Board Haji Ali bin Matyassin, Toan pointed out that Brunei capital’s (Bandar Seri Begawan) experience in urban development is the focus of bilateral cooperation, and called on city leaders to support collaboration in the field.

Haji Ali briefed the delegation on Brunei’s capital, its administrative apparatus and plans.

The delegation paid fact-finding trips to several economic and cultural establishments in the cities.

The Vietnamese embassies in Brunei Darussalam, Myanmar and Indonesia have expressed willingness to partner with Hanoi in its work with the host cities.
