Four produced in court for theft

Four suspects comprising two locals and two Filipinos, allegedly involved in theft at Marine Construction Yard, Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd (BSP), Jalan Setia Raja, Kuala Belait, were produced before the Magistrate’s Court on August 17.

The Kuala Belait Police Station, Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) received a report on August 10 on missing iron plates owned by BSP.

CCTV footage showed two men using a forklift vehicle to transport the iron plates to a lorry.

The first suspect is Abdul Masmin bin Haji Abdul Mumin, 43, who works for BSP, while the second suspect is Abdul Wafiy bin A Mazlan, 29, who works as a security guard.

The third suspect is Ernie Caballero Magna, 41, while the fourth suspect is Jhon Smith Lou Prantilla, 23, both working in private companies.

All suspects face theft charges under Section 379 Penal Code Chapter 22 and were remanded for until today for.

The RBPF urged the public not to get involved in any criminal activities and also to channel any information of suspicious activities to the RBPF by contacting its hotline 993.
