Dawn talks at four Belait mosques

FOUR mosques in the Belait District held religious lectures at dawn yesterday, to enhance the atmosphere of faith and reverence.

At the Muhammad Jamalul Alam Mosque, a talk on ‘The Benefits of Subuh and Isyak Prayers’ was presented by Mosque Affairs Officer Haji Akup bin Haji Lamat, who said that the rewards of these obligatory prayers were far greater in congregation.

At RPN Kampong Pandan Mosque, a talk on ‘Beneficial Practices’ was delivered by Mosque Affairs Officer Abdul Qayyuum bin Haji Aminnuddin, who quoted verses 29-30 from Surah Fatir, stating that those who faithfully recite Al-Quran, establish prayer and give to charitable causes will never suffer from great losses.

At the Zainab Mosque, a talk on ‘The Benefits of the Sacrificial Rites’ was delivered by Mosque Affairs Officer Didi Normady bin Ahmad, who said that the sacrificial rite on the 10th-13th Zulhijjah is “an invaluable opportunity that should not be ignored or simply dismissed. It must be appreciated and fully tapped, in the hope of Allah’s blessings and the promised benefits.”

At the Kampong Labi Mosque, a talk on ‘The Advantages of Practising Sayyidul Istighfar’ was presented by Mosque Affairs Officer Haji Mohd Nazelly bin Noorashid, who recommended it as a chief form of repentance to cleanse and purify the soul.
