Chef Muto from Indonesia dazzled crowds with his trademark ‘Kung Fu style’ cooking demonstration at The Coffee House of The Rizqun International Hotel in Gadong last night.
The audience were amazed by a juggling display of flying pepper grinder, spatula, knives and vegetables by Chef Muto. Flown in from Jakarta, Mutofik Sultoni, popularly known as Chef Muto, entertained over 200 guests with his special Indonesian dishes such as Krengsengan Daging (stir-fried beef with soy sauce and spices), which was once very popular in Java, and Fried Prawn with Padang Sauce.
The event was a collaboration between the Embassy of Indonesia in Brunei Darussalam, The Rizqun International Hotel and the Indonesian Chef Association (ICA) of Brunei Darussalam aimed at promoting the uniqueness and variety of Indonesian cuisine among the Brunei society.
The Indonesian Embassy in collaboration with the ICA also held the same event at The Rizqun International Hotel in 2017 and Parkview Hotel in 2018, inviting Chef William Wongso and Chef Juna respectively.
Graduating from Ankara University in Turkey back in 2011, Chef Muto has gained experience in the cooking world not only in Indonesia but also in places he has travelled to including Russia, Turkey, Azerbaijan and Japan.
Despite being a famous celebrity chef, Chef Muto is easy to interact with and is open to sharing his cooking experience with others.
